Welcome to my personal website - Enjoy for as long as you like and remember that: "You miss 100% of the balls you don't swing at!"

WHO AM I & WHY ARE YOU READING THIS?

I am not sure I can answer why you are reading this, but I will try to see if I can at least tell you about me...

Well, I guess we all have a story - but where to begin? I was born in 1970 and spent my formative years (thru High School) in Minnesota. This immediately begs the question: "How did you survive those winters" - the very simple answer...I did, but now I live in California!

I left Minnesota in 1988 after graduating from the Blake School and attended Colgate University in upstate New York - mmmm, Minnesota to upstate New York...we are really not sure about this guy now!

During college I had one of the more important lessons in life bestowed upon me while working in Geneva, Switzerland. While working amongst a group of Petroleum Brokers, I was told that "work will always be here for you. You will not have your twenties to live over again!" - that was all it took, I made up my mind!

After graduating from college, I left to travel the world - not exactly sure how I was going to do that. I first landed on Nantucket and proceeded to learn how to become a chef. That job allowed me to travel throughout the US - Colorado, Alaska, Hawaii and Lake Tahoe. I lasted about 5yrs, living out of a backpack and sating my appetite for adventure (I was a SCUBA and Ski instructor in there too).

I reached a point in my life where I wanted a more business focused career and stumbled into San Francisco in 1997 and have been here ever since.

I now find myself in one of the most beautiful and interesting places on earth! The people, the surroundings, the industry, it is sensory overload for the mind and body.

Poke around some more - learn about my family, friends and other pastimes. Please keep checking back as I am going to updating this site with some other functions over time...

Thanks for stopping by!

Richard
